What the heck is RIPE and why should I care?
The RIPE Framework is an answer to the scaling dilemma: How to scale your organization without having the additional capacity eaten up by fire-fighting of cross-team issues?
Is this fire-fighting caused by technology, by lack of discipline or by being to lazy? No! It is all about missing conversations caused by the divide and conquer nature of the scaling frameworks out there.
Just think about your organization:
How do you set the agenda (issues to address)?
How do you make sure the agenda addresses the right issues?
How do you identify those people who are the right ones to address a particular issue?
How do you make sure these people come together fast?
How do you make sure they fully resolve the respective issue?
The RIPE Framework uses a new way of thinking to answer these questions. It comes with a simple playbook that allows you to be up and running within just a few weeks.
Is this yet another scaling framework?
Oh no! RIPE is rather a missing piece to scaled frameworks which allows them to keep a promise.

Where is the framework explained?
The RIPE Framework is not a public domain. However, you can gain access to the entire knowledge base (so called RIPE Universe) by becoming a RIPE Guide.
Do you provide (certification) training on RIPE?
We do not offer any kind of (certification) training because we do not believe in trainings and more importantly because we are not going add to the value destroying certification business.
In a real implementation cases we recognize the true source of value for those who are willing to learn about RIPE. Note that we do not record any RIPE Storytelling sessions. So make sure you stay tuned to join in.
Who is on-call for incidents in production with RIPE?
RIPE doesn't require that everyone in the organization takes part in a RIPE event, rather only that the RIght PEople take part. As such, you always have people available to take care of production incidents.
Who takes care of the continuous stewardship and evolution of the services with RIPE?
For SAFe it is system architects, product managers and RTEs who take care of the continuous stewardship. In case you use RIPE once a week, the other four days are freed up for actual stewardship and not constantly full of meetings because getting a decision made takes multiple meetings because no one is ever available.
Does this augment SAFe, fix SAFe, or replace SAFe?
RIPE enhances scaled frameworks substantially by providing an answer to the scaling dilemma.
How much does it cost?
In order to implement RIPE on commercial base you need to be a RIPE Guide. As a RIPE Guide you are obliged to a yearly membership payment of CHF 200 excl. VAT.
